My mother had to have one back in 1959. That first year, she usladel blue balls on it. And it sat in the front living room window. Latershe switched to red to have something different. And we all seemedto like it better. It made the other red things in the room stand out.Around '61, we went back to a live tree. And mom went the mixedballs route that year. And the garland too. She stayed with real treesafter that. And once I flocked one for her, and it looked so pretty.That was using the vacuum cleaner somehow, to blow theflocking on. She used not only the red balls that year, but she addedcandy canes to add even more color. She even used the color wheelagainst the white tree, but it just wasn't the same.
