Tristan and Iseult Medieval Arthurian Grande Tapestry Wall Hanging
The Arthurian Legend of Tristan and Iseult is a tale of love, honour, intrigue, betrayal&jealousy that ends ultimately in tragedy. Tristan was sent to Ireland to fetch Iseult for her husband-to-be in Cornwall. Unwittingly they share a love potion intended for her betrothed and in yielding to each other's gaze, they embrace their fate. This image of eternal passion in a finely woven tapestry is a faithful reproduction of a 1918 painting by John Duncan (2001 Artists Rights Society, New York/DACS, London) now at the City Art Centre: City of Edinburgh.
